This is GREAT. I love it so much… I still suck at the game, but skinning it is hilarious. The skinning for the characters, weapons etc is infinite. I first saw this at the Ubuntu Gamers Arena, (which you should check regularly, for some (sometimes) awesome games) and decided to start now.

The graphics are great for it (In my mind), there are only a few weapons, the tees are so cute and it stays interesting all the same. I kept getting owned, so I just practice with my friend (for now) on a private server. πŸ™‚

There can be some very intense action (on the busy servers), sometimes. Also, you’ll find tricks as you go along (such as, when using the mortar (or whatever it’s called… the red gun πŸ˜› ) always jump before firing) and will perfect them to your advantage.

I love the hammer (hammer time!), it’s also great when you combine grapple with it, pull your enemy towards you and hammer like crazy πŸ˜† . Let me give some basic gameplay advice/ initial play. The game uses WASD controls; to shoot, it’s the left mouse button; to grapple, it’s the right button.

Talking is “t” and switching weapons is scrolling. Sometimes you can get very fast using the grapple, and outrun someone with a sword (David…). The basic rules of the sword are, whoever gets it first will own you if you don’t. Also, never show mercy when people are typing. 😈

This game seems to remind me of Nexuiz (another great game) in a sense that: I play it with my friends and there is grapple. At least in this game, you don’t get angry trying to bring yourself back up from underneath the map; except in Nexuiz “e” was used.

Speaking of “e”, when pressed in teewars you get a little circle of bubbles that can be over your tee’s head. Kind of like in Battlefield two with “q”. There is plenty room for modification is this game, all you have to do is edit the pngs.

As I said previously, skinning the tees as they are called can be hilarious. Like, a kirby with a gun… hehe, I mean, I can understand with the hammer… Also, while you can, stockpile on armor, because you will need it later.

I need to learn more advanced skinning and get better at this game, but for now, I’ll play in my little private server. If you do want to join it, all viewers of my blog get special access πŸ˜‰ .

You’ll be seeing me and David there. Unfortunately, you won’t be seeing our custom skins, as you have to have them in your skin folder too. I’ll enclose the ones we like/ have made and will tell you how to add and use them:

Just goto the teewars folder then: data -> skins and put the pngs there. To use them, under the game just goto settings, Player tab, skins and scroll to it there. Don’t be shy to create your own, go ahead, we might like it πŸ˜› .

  2. hehe, that would be cool. πŸ˜‰ David is making a site for our themes, so I can get rid of those image links. πŸ™‚

  3. Wes, his bro, and I had a 3 hour deathmatch. Man was it intense πŸ˜›
